"Grazie Maestro" is a tribute show, to the great Milanese artist, who died on March 29, 2013.
The project was inspired by a long-standing friendship and a great admiration, artistic and human of Enzo Jannacci with Silvia Reggiani, my wife, who infected the undersigned, a few years before the disappearance of the one we now call "Master".
His artistic ability, to tell a glimpse of Milanese and Lombard reality through music, texts, a style of surreal comedy, to get to the heart of people, of every cultural and social level, with messages, which in reality of local they had very little, still amazes me today.
Many of these messages, unfortunately prophetic, had foreseen that social and economic drift that we are now undergoing for a long time: the precariousness in the work, the exploitation and the dispersion of those vital energies for a society for the young people. The eternal problem of the mafia, which is expressed in a thousand different ways, but one of all: hypocrisy. Jannacci was a staunch opponent, until the end, of cultural hypocrisy.
Those who have got to know a little more about his artistic production, beyond those successes, which have made him famous to the general public, can not but agree, on these aspects there is no need to go too far: Jannacci Enzo is a character that has been much loved, but also quite mistreated by the show business environment, especially in particular moments, not just at the beginning of his career.
This brief document intends to illustrate how this project was born, and its aims, through the description and history of a musical show called "Grazie Maestro".
Through this path, as it immediately became after the first edition of the show, we founded the cultural association "Quelli che ... Enzo Jannacci ce l'hanno nel cuore" (whose that have Enzo Janancci in their heart) that I honor to represent. It is not simply a question of bringing to the stage, through musical tributes, a memory of an artist who has momentarily left us. It is about reviving, its messages, its efforts, to make sure that art and music in particular, always represent a means, to tell, to denounce, to build together a better society, as well as to entertain and unite the people who struggle every day for these purposes and make them feel less alone.
This was the idea that allowed to quickly aggregate the energies of many artists, and enthusiasts, some of whom have met and worked with Enzo, critics, journalists, photographers and simple spectators, who have made possible the evolution of "Thanks Master "for what it is today and that we now begin to tell you.
